The start of summer brings warmth to the heart, images of sun-kissed memories by the ocean, and the heat and passion of hot summer nights. Be careful not to rush into romance at the drop of a hat. Stop and consider that things might be going too fast, even though you may feel that the love of your life has just dropped into your scene. Just take things slower than you normally would. Long-distance relationships will be affected by Neptune in retrograde and later by Mercury in retrograde, so, take it one step at a time for a couple of months when reality will become more clear.

With Neptune now in retrograde, your long-distance relationship may feel unclear to you. These circumstances certainly have the ability to influence your emotional state of mind. Your relationship at a distance may not seem as vibrant as it once was and you are not sure how to keep it alive. If you will let a couple months go by and re-focus on today rather than the future, it will help the time pass by quicker until the road ahead smooths out.

Additionally, if plans go awry, or connections are missed or delayed, the Sea King’s reverse path provides a slippery slope to imagined wrongs or problems where none may exist. This can lead to a quick change of heart and plans even if, ultimately, there is a reason for the confusion that may be obscured by the feeling of being deceived, which may or may not be justified.

The two most important features of this summer that will have a profound influence on your long-distance relationship is Neptune in retrograde since the beginning of June and Mercury retrograde during the hottest part of summer. You may experience delays in actual face-to-face connections, plans that falter and just plain frustrating times. Communications may break down. Just give yourself time and things will straighten out as long as you don’t try to force issues.

You may have found the love of your life and suddenly you hit a wall. There is not a road map for these circumstances, and, if you are in a distant relationship, communications could stall. Just don’t jump to unnecessary conclusions during this time period. It is really just a speed bump on a long road and one that you will get past.

Just because things may not quite work out the way you thought they would this summer, does not mean an ending. Communication and short distance travel will be affected, especially during the first three weeks of August this summer. Not to worry. If your plans seem to be going awry, just put them off for a few weeks and things should resume their normal pattern.
