Pageant Of Power: The Goodwood Of The North...
The Cholmondeley Pageant of Power takes place at Cholmondeley Castle, a historic estate in Cheshire, which since Norman times has been home to the Cholmondeley family.
Since 2007 the pageant has been an annual event, celebrating the best and most interesting of the land, sea and air automotive worlds.
This 2010 event is over the weekend of the 17th & 18th July and core to the events is the 3 mile race track situated in the grounds of the park, where more than 150 vehicles will compete in a range of races and displays. Spectators can view the vehicles taking part from various points around the track, and will see both rare and high performance cars across the two days.
Other attractions at the pageant will be a selection of inshore power boats on display, Rib rides and Jet Ski demonstration pieces from the world champions.
If air automotives are more your thing, then this year’s pageant is set to see over 140 helicopters fly into the area, both corporate and privately owned. As one of the largest helicopter events in Europe, the event includes exciting aerobatic displays such as wing walkers, Spitfires, a Mustang from Hangar 11 & military helicopter displays.
There will also be a number of stands for advice and shopping, and there’s plenty for children too, with child friendly attractions including a JCB dragster, go karting and a mini grand prix.
With all that to see and do, you’ll probably need a drink and a rest, so the pageant has an onsite pub, wine bar, Veuve Clicquot sponsored champagne bar and a tea room! If you’re hungry as well, then there is a full menu to choose from in the Paegant Pub, and a number of stalls supplying local produce, like, pasties, cheeses and ice-cream.
So whether you love the thrill of an adrenaline ride, love to see water sports at their best, or are partial to a tipple, something at the pageant will be sure to please.
One of the exhibitors at the Pageant Of Power is leading Chester solicitors Oliver & Co, whose specialitst driving offence solicitors will be on hand on all motoring offences.
